the SCHOLARSHIP ATHLETE

Myrton grew up competing in numerous athletics.  He eventually earned a NCAA Division 1A college football scholarship as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics (Chemistry minor).

New York City

After earning a full-tuition scholarship to NYC's American Musical and Dramatic Academy, Myrton performed at the Juilliard School, the Joseph Public Theater, La MaMa ETC., and gained a recurring role on a network television soap opera.  He went on to earn a Master of Arts degree from Tisch School of the Arts at NYU.

Chicago and Hollywood

In Chicago, Myrton tackled the lead role of NECTOR KASHPAW in Lifeline Theater's Joseph Jefferson Award nominated adaptation of Louise Erdrich's famous novel Love Medicine.  Steppenwolf Theatre then offered him a role in their revival of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest starring Gary Sinise, but Myrton decided to accept a slot in the University of Southern California's highly competitive film and television production program.

the STORYTELLER

Myrton is a storyteller inspired more by his Native American roots than restrictive union categories.  After earning his M.F.A from USC's School of Cinematic Arts, he went on to act in Steven Spielberg's Into the West, co-produce the celebrated Alcatraz: Art Behind Bars, and co-write the acclaimed feature film script Black Warrior of Pyramid Lake.

the SCHOLAR

Myrton's research at Stanford looks to improve diversity in film, television, and theater production.  By analyzing the economics and politics of minority participation, he created an inclusive production model using "Design Thinking."  This improves how marginalized populations feel about themselves, the world, and the future.
